Jennifer Lopez has wrapped up her part of filming at Smithers on the Netflix production The Mother.
In an Instagram video posted last night, the actor, producer, singer and dancer confirmed she was heading home.
“It’s my last day here to shoot The Mother at Smithers in the snow, it’s been wonderful, but tonight I’m coming home, I’m so excited for Thanksgiving,” she said.
Filming for the action / thriller, in which Lopez plays an assassin who comes out of his hiding place to protect his daughter from dangerous attackers, has been underway since early November.
The scenes shot at Smithers involve the production stunt unit doing snowmobile footage at various locations including the Opal Mine (10-11 miles on McDonell Lake Road, Microwave Ridge (off the Telkwa River Forest Road ) and The Prairie (atop Hudson Mountain Bay).
Filming, which takes place primarily in the Lower Mainland, is slated to end in January with a release date later in the year.
