LINCOLN – Governor Pete Ricketts proclaimed October Manufacturing Month in Nebraska during a visit to Elliott Equipment Company in Omaha on Friday, October 1st. Elliott Equipment Company manufactures machinery such as truck cranes and telescopic platforms to enable workers to perform work in the air, such as building power transmission lines or installing display panels.
Governor Ricketts also visited Nebraska Distillers Products and Subconn in Ord to celebrate Nebraska companies making innovative products right here in Cornhusker State. Nebraska Distillers Products produces distillers’ grain pellets as feed for calves and cattle. Subconn, with headquarters in Burwell and a location in Ord, manufactures submarine submarine cables at its facility in the Sandhills.
Manufacturing employment in Nebraska has already surpassed pre-pandemic levels. More than 101,000 Nebraskans work in the manufacturing sector, the highest total since August 2008.
