Thalapathy Vijay resumes filming his 66th film in Chennai

Tamil star Thalapathy Vijay’s 66th film, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, has entered its third phase of filming. Filming will now take place in Chennai. Earlier, two film schedules were completed in Chennai and Hyderabad.

Reportedly, the film crew will now film a fight scene. The scene is expected to be shot at Gokulam studio in Chennai. Film unit sources have said that the fourth phase of filming will begin in Hyderabad. The fourth phase is expected to begin next month.

Recently, some footage of the sets and the supposed fight scene leaked on social media. The photos came from a fight scene inside a nursery, according to reports. In the scene, Vijay was trying to save Rashmika Mandanna from attackers as she was buying plants from a nursery.

Thalapathy 66 movie is a family entertainer and it is expected to be an emotional drama. The film was financed by Dil Raju and Sirish under the banner of Sri Venkateshwara Creations. Apart from Vijay and Rashmika, the film stars Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Prabhu, Jayasudha, Srikanth and Sangeeta Krish. The film is slated for release in early 2023.

According to sources, the title and the first preview of the film are ready and it could be released soon. The movie has been tentatively titled Thalapathy 66 and the movie’s poster and first look video could be released on June 22, Vijay’s birthday.

A few reports also claim that the movie might be titled Vaarishu, which means heir. However, there is no official confirmation on this.
