SANTA BARBARA, CA – June 22, 2021 – TV Santa Barbara (TVSB), the area’s community media access center, is proud to announce that it has produced a spectacular one-hour video for Summer Solstice Celebration Inc as part of the TVSB program â2021 Donner en avant le programâ.
The video will premiere at the historic Arlington Theater on Saturday, June 26. This free in-person program will begin at 10 a.m. and run until noon. The show will also air on KEYT, channel 3 at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 27. And will be broadcast on TVSB’s community access channels 17 and 71 with their YouTube platform.
âWe are thrilled to preview the Virtual Solstice State Street Parade film featuring so many creative and talented local members of our community in the beautiful and historic Arlington Theater,â said Robin Elander, Executive Director of Celebration of the summer solstice. “This offering along with the additional exhibitions and events around Santa Barbara have kept the Solstice spirit and joy alive during these unprecedented two years.”
The film is the culmination of two months of recording in the city and at the Creative Art Workshop that serves as the hub for the annual Midsummer Celebration. The hour-long video features community submissions, vignettes, playful ensembles, dancing, music, interviews, and plenty of art performances you won’t want to miss! It will be a fun event for the whole family, so come in costume and meet the performers afterwards in Arlington Yard.
âIt was an inspiring project to work on as TV Santa Barbara continues to support our local festivals in these unprecedented times,â said Erik Davis, TVSB Executive Director. “This movie is a creative, fun and colorful celebration of Santa Barbara and the summer solstice that I know the whole community will enjoy in person or on television.”
